Exactly 30 anniversary since the first Toy Story movie debuted, launching the animation giant as a major film company and introducing audiences to beloved characters like Woody (Tom Hanks) and Buzz Lightyear (the voice talent), who are now famous worldwide.

Coming in 2026, the fifth installment is scheduled for release. The first teaser trailer for Toy Story 5 appeared recently, offering a glimpse into the storyline but leaving viewers curious how it will resolve the ending of Toy Story 4.

The Latest Addition: A Frog-Shaped Tablet Frightens the Toys

The preview shows Bonnie — who inherited the toy collection when he left for college — receiving a latest plaything, one that alarms the familiar toy group. Bonnie gets her first tablet computer, and she is excited about it.

Theoretically, the frog-shaped tablet will come to life just like the rest of her playthings. However, the characters seem to view it as a threat intending to supplant them, which it likely will.

The Cowboy's Comeback: Mysteries from Toy Story 4

An element the teaser avoids is why Woody is returned with his companions in Bonnie's room. The end of Toy Story 4 depicted him set off on a new adventure with the shepherdess (the actress), journeying with a fair and helping giveaway items locate loving owners.

Surely, Pixar will explain the consequences of Toy Story 4 in the film. Witnessing him show up in Bonnie's room without warning is somewhat puzzling, though. It also raises questions whether Bo Peep will have returned with Woody. And what about the stuntman toy (Keanu Reeves)?

Continuity from the Last Installment

At the very least, some aspects are continuing from the earlier movie. The last thing Woody did before setting off for his new life was pass his symbol of authority to the cowgirl (Joan Cusack), entrusting her in charge of Bonnie's bedroom. In the teaser displays the badge pinned to her shirt.

Hopefully she is remains the key figure among the group.
